Cocoa Ate a Dryer Sheet

Look at this adorable face! Does this look like the face of a pup that would yank a dryer sheet out of your hand and wolf it down before you can even say nooooooooo? You're darn right it does! Yes, he's adorable with his innocent little face, but he can be very sneaky! So yesterday, CoGator and RoxRoo had gotten into something --something RANK-- and Darling Hubby (DH) thought it would be a good idea to wipe them down with a dryer sheet to freshen them up. Granted, we don't even use dryer sheets anymore, I use liquid Gain softener, so I thought it was a pretty good idea myself. Heck, why not use them for something since we have them already. So I go out there with 2 dryer sheets and start rubbing Roxie down. She sits there so politely and lets me rub away. Meanwhile, Cocoa is jumping up and down, acting all silly, and next thing I know -- he' snagged his dryer sheet and has it chewed up and swallowed before I can grab him. Considering all the things they have ate in the past, I really wasn't too worried about the consequences. That is -- until I "googled" it. All this talk about toxins and intestinal blockage had me worried. DH assured me he should be fine considering all that he's ate in the past -- wood, shrubs, plastic bottles, styrofoam pumpkins, newspapers, planters, aluminum cans . . . well, you get the picture. Thank goodness, he seemed fine this evening. I think mama's Cocoa Boy is gonna be just fine.

Happy Easter - just a week late!

Man, has this month FLOWN by or what! We've been filled with birthdays and still have one more for the month of April (Squirt is gonna be 16 in 8 days - eeeekkkk!). Here's a quick little picture I took of the kids at Easter. Look how much that tree has grown! Just kidding! But actually I do take their Easter picture out by the same Bradford Pear every year just to see how much they have grown compared to the tree. Here's a closeup of my rascals! And why is it it always seems to be cold on Easter morning? They are really shivering in that picture! And was it really that long ago that they looked like this? It sure doesn't seem like it! Gosh they grow up quick!!

Happy Birthday Scooby!

Scooby Doo turned 12 over the weekend. I must say the birthday sleepover went over very well this year. Usually, we always have way too many girls and somebody ends up getting mad, crying, etc. before the night is over. Not this time -- we had 3 girls spend the night and nobody got mad or their feelings hurt. They messed around outside for a while then came in watched Twlight. It was WONDERFUL! And just in honor of Scooby's birthday . . . here's a page that I did recently that reminded me of what she used to love to watch -- BARNEY! I love you, Scooby Doo! Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Uggghhhh! TGIF!

I'm getting way too old for days like this -- actually for weeks like this! I had to proctor an exam today - and of course, my whole week at work this week has been spent getting ready for today's exam. It just couldn't be cut and dry . . . it had to be complicated with a 20-minute video that had to be presented at the beginning of the exam. Of course, I figured out how to start the video, but could I get it displayed on the big screen? Of course not. Fifty-seven students sat patiently and waited while I piddled with it, trying to get it to work. I finally had to go get help. Finally got that going and done, then when I had to call time at the end of 3 1/2 hours, I had 3 pages left in the Breaking Dawn book. I REALLY wanted to finish it THEN, but time was up, so I had to put it up and call time. Grrrrr! Of course, the topic director (whom shall remain nameless) was chomping at the bit to get the scores. It's not quite that simple and quick with a paper exam. I have to unstuff all the packets (all 121 of them) then scan in the bubble sheets. Not to mention, there were 2 bubble sheets for this exam. ALSO not to mention that some of these students seem dyslexic, and can't bubble in their id number correctly to save their life. So, I have to spot those and correct them. Anyway, I finally get everything ready for the topic director at quarter till 5. I beep him -- he calls back -- he's at home - already left for the day! Can I scan all the reports in and email them to him, he asks? GRRRRRRRRRRRR! Of course I will - but I was not very happy. I FINALLY get out of there, only to come home to host a bday party for Miss Scooby. Five giggling, squealing, LOUD girls are at our house tonight. I'm just mentally done for the night!

Bye Bye Megan!

So like a year from now, I'm sure I won't even remember who Megan Joy was, but I'm so glad she was voted off American Idol last night. There truly is justice in the world. But we won't waste time talking about her -- here was my favorite part of the night . . . David Cook singing his latest hit. He just rocks!

Scrapbook Page of the Day - 3/30/09

So here we go . . . I thought this one would be a fun one to share - especially since I haven't mentioned Frick and Frack (aka Roxie and Cocoa) at all in my blogging so far. These pictures were taken in October - and what's really funny is they think they are really in for a treat if they happen to snag a little apple off the dwarf apple tree. But if the truth be known - that pathetic little tree grows apples about the size of golf balls - and has for years now. I'm not sure why it won't grow regular size apples -- maybe because DH (Darling Husband) bought the tree many years ago from Big Lots. Not that anything is wrong with Big Lots -- but you know what I'm saying here. I don't think I'll ever be getting a crop of apples off of this little tree. But who knows -- maybe one of these days I'll be surprised. Meanwhile, we just get a kick out of the silly dogs trying to get a "treasure" off the tree. Dang, I love those silly dogs!

I Stink at Blogging

Gosh - I can't believe nearly 3 months has passed since I declared I was going to keep up this blog. Where did time go? Obviously, I stink at blogging and can't seem to manage my time very well! But here I am -- and I'm going to give it a shot again!

We've been swamped with cheerleading overlapping with softball and there's never any me time! However, I've been trying to make some me time lately. I've made a point to watch American Idol religiously this year and man -- am I enjoying it. I didn't think I could ever find anybody that could make me as happy as David Cook's music has -- but behold, bring on Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey (I probably butchered his last name -- but I'm too lazy to look it up and see if I got it right). I really REALLY love them both! When I started watching it this year, I thought the talent stunk. But now, I honestly think this is the most talented group yet -- minus most of the girls! I do like Allison - she's awesome to be 16; and how about Anoop Dawg -- gotta pull for the Carolina boy! It's become tradition for us around here to watch Idol every week -- and I'm enjoying "chatting" with Teeter on Idol nights too. It's been fun sending text messages back and forth - trying to guess who's singing what and who's going home.

I've gotten back into my scrapbooking and really want to try to do it several times a week if possible. I have thousands and thousands (really, THOUSANDS!) of pictures that I have dreams of scrapping -- I might as well start now.

So, instead of trying to keep up with a picture a day - I think I'm going to post a scrapbook page every few days. I've got some that I did last year and some I've worked on recently. They tell our life story as good as anything to be honest!

Let me go dig one up and share it. Be back in a bit.
